Making Juice work with Windows Vista

The latest version of Juice (formerly known as iPodder) is not officially supported on Windows Vista. However, it can be made to work, with a little persuasion.

First, Configure Juice to run in Compatibility mode for XP SP2.

  • Browse to c:\Program Files\Juice
  • Right-click on Juice.exe, select Properties, switch to the Compatibility tab, and select "Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows XP Service pack 2"
  • Click OK

Next, you'll have to change a configuration setting so Juice can download files:

  • Navigate to C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\iPodder
  • Edit iPodder.cfg
  • Find the download_dir line, change "My Documents" to "Documents"
  • Save and exit the file

windows vista/file sharing

Hello Mike, I have a burning, yet probably a very simple question for you about file sharing and ''networking'' with Windows Vista.
I have two computers, my PS3, and my Wii on a home ''network'' , and no matter what I seem to do, Vista refuses to file share with my Windows Xp computer. I have one printer set up for both computers, and THAT works fine.
Yet, when I go to file share between the two computers, it says I do not have file sharing enabled. ARG!
Is it just Windows Vista, or am I doing something wrong?

File sharing in Windows Vista

It sounds like you need to enable file sharing, under "Sharing and Discovery" sectioin of the "Network and Sharing Center" window.
